Sassocorvaro

Sassocorvaro stands on a rocky outcrop on the valley of the river Foglia. Its origins are unclear, but we know that in the Renaissance era it was ruled by Brancaleoni and Malatesta. In 1475, just for save it from the pitfalls of Malatesta, Ottaviano Ubaldini, driven by Federico da Montefeltro, built the Ubaldinesca fortress, one of the greatest masterpieces of Italian military architecture, thanks to the architect Francesco di Giorgio Martini.
